kava kava
has been tested against traditional benzodiazepines for use in controlling anxiety.
Kava Kava is the herb of choise to relax the body, relieve stress, anxiety, headache and back
pain. Kava has been used for three thousand years by the people of the South Pacific for
ceremonial, social and medicinal purposes. Kava is now recognized by many doctors as an
alternative to drugs like Xanax and Valium.
lactuca virosa
among the narcotics, which include opium and its derivatives, there is lactucarium,
the smokable extract derived from lactuca virosa. Lactucarium smells and tastes like opium. When
smoked or swallowed, it is so mildly intoxicating it remains legal. There are no visions but the
euphoria and dreamy intoxication last slightly longer. Although lactucarium is structurally unrelated
to the opiates, it will still soothe irritating cough, ease minor pains, and help induce sleep, hence its
more common name of 'lettuce opium.'
lavendar
is used as an antidepressant. It is used in combination with other herbs for a remedy
for depression and nervous tension and stress. It is also used as a headache remedy.
Mexican damiana
is used to regulate the female cycles. It is also used to stimulate the sexual
appetite. It is good for urinary problems and nervousness, as well as hypertension.
 passion vine
is used to treat nervous and restlessness. In short, the effects of passion vine are
believed to be primarily on the nervous system. Its effects are particularly touted for those with
anxiety due to mental worry and overwork.
poppy flower
is used for pain, insomnia, nervousness, and chronic coughs.
sage
is beneficial to the mind by easing mental exhaustion and by strengthening the concentrating
abilities.
scotch broom
tops are a valuable remedy where there is a weak heart and low blood pressure.
Since it is also a diuretic and produces peripheral constriction of the blood vessels while increasing
the efficiency of each stroke of the heart, it can be used where water retention occurs due to heart
weakness.
skullcap
(also spelled Scullcap) a sattvic herb, promotes awareness, clarity, and detachment.

Star of Bethlehem

Tagetes
has been used as a bronchodilatory for it's anti-inflammatory properties.
